Well they are coming to christen a new downtown performing arts center. Workers are turning an old bank into a 150 seat performance space for plays, concerts and events. The September 19th grand opening includes a concert by Rock Hill's own Plair-All Stars, lead by local musician Bobby Plair. I will tell you a little story about what cancer has done to my family. On July 2nd 2009, I lost my uncle to bone cancer. This hurt me so bad that I think I cried for 2 weeks straight. When he was told that he had bone cancer and that he only had 6 months to live, he called me and told me to meet him at his house he needed to talk to me. Well after I got off work I went to him and when he told me what the doctor said, I lost it. You have to understand this was my favorite uncle we did everything together. So from that day on we went and just lived it up we did everything that we have always wanted to do. And when my dad called and told me the news that he was gone, I went to him right away. I knew that it was going to happen just not this soon I thought he would be here another 6 months. Habitat For Humanity Run/Walk Its time to run or walk for a good cause. The Habitat for Humanity if putting on a Run/Walk to raise money for building shelter for those families in need. Habitat for Humanity is an organization that builds homes for the families that have lost there homes do to storms, fires, hurricanes or just don't have the money to buy a home and needs a place for there family. This organization is a great cause. I know for a fact that the Habitat for Humanity is a great place to turn to in your time of need. When I was little my mother and father were separating and my mom didn't have anywhere for us to call home. A friend of my moms told her about this place and we went to one of the meetings and it was so amazing the help that they provide for the families. There were people there that were homeless with children, elderly people that have lost everything and lots of people that were just in need. My mom looked into it and were going to get a home. In the long run my parents ended up working things out and we moved back home. So from experience, I know that they are really there to help. Changing Colors My daughter just started high school this week and of course she wants to be like everyone else if she can.
