All this rain has left some cities under water almost! I am so glad I am not where they are because they will have lost everything when they return home. Still not working!!!! Well, I have been patient long enough. My job is at risk now cause my computer wont stay up and running long enough for me to do anything. He works so others are not homeless! In my home town of Rock Hill South Carolina, there is one of the most wonderful guys. I don't know him personally, but would not mind getting to know him. He came from West Virginia, he moved to Rock Hill to be closer to his daughter. He bought three rental houses and fixed them up and rented two of them out. Well the tenants in both the houses have worked there whole lives and never missed there rent. In one of the houses there is a man and his wife and two small children and in the other one its a man and his wife and a baby. Well both of these men worked as construction workers, and several months ago they were laid off from there jobs. They can't pay rent anymore, so this wonderful man I was telling you about. He went and got him a job at Walgreens here in Rock Hill. He has been working for 41 days in the photo department, and he pays the tenants rent for them on a $8.50 hourly check. You know he has every right to kick them out of his houses, but he said he can't do that. He use to live in a big house and he got behind on his mortgage on his own home so he sold it and moved into one of the three houses just so these people would not be homeless. He goes to work everyday and does not complain about it not one time. He enjoys doing it, to keep his tenants from being on the streets with these babies. Good hearted people come few and far between sometimes! I have a friend who is a cosmetologist, she does my hair for me. Don't know what I would do without her well except have a lot of gray hair in my life ha ha! But this isn't about me, I decided to write a little about her. She has recently lost her grandmother who was 93 years old, I remember her always taking care of her. Well she has recently taken on a responsibility that I admire...she has volunteered to cut, perm set, whatever is needed at this local nursing home. Today she put in a perm for a lady that is 100 years old she told me it took 4 people to help because she didn't want to sit still. You know most people are in the nursing home for a reason. I'm not sure what her reason is but my friend said she was a tough one it took 2 hours to do a little old ladies perm. I call that patience and I call that dedication! I love my job and the people I work for! I have been with the company 4 years come November of this year. I had just started my job in November 2005 loving it so much...well a little over a month into it my daughter who was 15yrs old at the time had a heart attack on Christmas eve 2005 we spent that Christmas in the ICU at our local hospital my Christmas morning was me waking up to the news that my daughter was going to need heart surgery as soon as they could get the appointment at MUSC in Charleston SC! Well 2 months & we went to Charleston for the surgery huge success! But that's not all one year ago this week my daughter who now was 18yrs old woke up and was paralyzed from the neck down! Wow what a scare! 5 times we visited our ER here in Greer & she was sent home well she couldn't stand she couldn't do anything! I called the ambulance and asked that she be taken to a different hospital. Then I had to go to work. My sister went with her in the ambulance I got the call an hour later she was admitted NO CLUE what's next. I called my regional manager to let her know she then informed the CEO and owner of my situation & again they stood by us 100% I was out of work for 2 weeks my daughter going through some very rough times. Not one minute did I have to worry about my job... the entire company was there for my family and I! I still got my pay and everyone raised money to help with gas and food. I had my 13yr old son at home alone all day I had to travel back daily to take care of him at night. How many companies will be there for you like that? Looking Good!!!! Ever want to throw your computer right into the middle of the road? Well I just about did that this morning, but the big man recommended that I don't do that and just call Comporium and switch over the DHL to cable modem. I could not do any of my work, (which was ok with me) because they were here just about all day trying to fix my problems. All I could do was just sit back and enjoy the scenery. The Walking Lunch Lady To The Rescue!! First of all you don't eat breakfast. Supposedly the most important meal of the day. Then comes lunch. Now hungrier than you were when you did not eat that breakfast. Your at work, you look around and what do you see? Not your lunch cause you left it on the kitchen counter. Today it was BBQ, Baked Beans (my husband's gonna love me) and cole slaw and a roll. Get outa here, haaaayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Tomorrow I believe the menu is going to consist of Baked Spaghetti and some good ole' garlic bread. She said girl, that ain't nothing. Baked chicken, fried chicken, pork chops. Dropin it off!!! Now let me tell you what this einstein did. He plops down in my chair and begins to share his story with me. He loves jewelry I believe more than Mr. T does. Well, him and his brother went and had a few cocktails (granted this was back in May) and decided to go to his local jewelry store to drop all his jewelry off to get cleaned and checked out. Ok, well that's cool, but when he got home looked down and could not for the life of him remember what he did with his jewelry. Well, he called them today to see how much it would be to pick up a bracelet he dropped off last week to get cleaned. The owner of the jewelry store (of course they are friends) said which one? He said, do huh? Well guess what, he remembered what he did with all that other jewelry. Ya know how mechanics have storage fees, well she did too.
