The Inaugural Low Country Grits Festival Hey yall!! I just wanted to tell you about a special event that is coming up on April 19th in Bowens Island, SC called the Low Country Grits Festival!! It is definitely an event that you do not want to miss! There will be live music from the Coppertones, a Grit toss, and a Grit eating contest! Just imagine all the grits you can eat! I do not know about you, but I cannot pass on the last one!! This is an all day event and tickets are only $8 now. But they will be $10 the day of the event! Children 12 and under are free! Greer, South Carolina Chili cook off will be March 19th at 6:00 PM Mmmm the smell of grandma's chili awaits all you lucky chili lovers. They are expecting between 4,000 and 5,000 visitors to Greer Station. There are twenty participating restaurants and they will be making over 500 gallons of chili. There will be a Greer's Best Chili award. Sample cups of chili will be $1.00 each and are paid for in cash. There will be plenty of Bud and Pepsi on hand.
